Florida Tile Tempo 24" x 48" Rectified Matte Porcelain Tile24x48 tile is a large format option for modern floors and walls. Its long rectangular shape creates a clean, open surface with fewer grout lines than smaller tile sizes, making it a strong choice for bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, shower walls, feature walls, and commercial spaces.
This collection includes porcelain in marble-look, stone-look, concrete-look, in matte, polished, and textured designs. Many options are made for both floor and wall use, giving large spaces a more continuous and refined appearance.
Large Format Tile for Floors and Walls
On floors, this size works best in spaces where you want a cleaner visual flow. Living rooms, kitchens, hallways, bathrooms, entryways, and open-plan areas can all benefit from the larger scale. Fewer grout joints can make the floor look smoother and easier to maintain, especially in modern interiors.
On walls, the 24x48 format creates a more architectural look. It works well on shower walls, bathroom walls, fireplace surrounds, kitchen feature walls, and commercial accent areas. The larger surface gives the wall a slab-like effect without requiring full stone slabs.
Marble-Look, and Stone-Look Options
Porcelain is one of the most practical materials in this size because it is dense, durable, and moisture-resistant when rated for the intended use. It is commonly chosen for bathrooms, kitchens, showers, entryways, and commercial interiors where the surface needs to handle daily wear.
Marble-look porcelain gives the appearance of natural veining with easier maintenance than real marble. In a 24x48 size, the veining has more room to show, which helps create a cleaner and more premium look on floors and walls.
Stone-look and concrete-look tiles are better suited for calm, modern, and commercial-style spaces. They work well when the design needs texture and depth without a busy pattern.
Select marble and natural stone options may also be available for projects that need a true stone surface. These materials can add natural variation and a more premium feel, but they usually require more care during installation and maintenance.
Bathrooms, Showers, and Wet Areas
This format is especially useful on bathroom walls and shower walls because it reduces grout lines and creates a more seamless finish. It can make smaller bathrooms feel cleaner and larger, while giving bigger bathrooms a more high-end appearance.
For bathroom floors, choose the finish carefully. Matte or lightly textured surfaces are usually more practical than highly polished surfaces in wet areas. For shower floors, smaller mosaic tiles are often preferred because they follow the slope more easily and provide more grout-line grip. Large 24x48 pieces are usually better suited to shower walls and other vertical wet-area surfaces.
Matte, Polished, and Textured Finishes
Matte finishes create a softer, low-glare surface that works well in modern homes, bathrooms, kitchens, and commercial interiors. They are easier to blend into natural or minimalist designs.
Polished finishes reflect more light and can make a space feel brighter and more refined. They are often used on walls, feature areas, and formal interiors. On floors, polished tile should be selected with care because slip resistance and visible wear matter more in high-use spaces.
Textured finishes add more surface feel and are useful where grip is important, such as bathrooms, entryways, covered outdoor areas, and commercial floors. For outdoor or wet installations, always check whether the tile is rated for that use.
Installation Notes
Large format tile needs more careful installation than smaller tile. The surface should be flat, the layout should be planned properly, and the right setting materials should be used to reduce lippage and uneven edges. Rectified edges can create a tighter, cleaner grout joint, but they also require more precise installation.
Before choosing a tile, consider the room size, finish, grout color, slip resistance, surface rating, and whether the product is suitable for floors, walls, wet areas, or outdoor use.
