Terracotta Tile

Explore glazed terracotta tiles from Lungarno Zellige Classique, including rectangular wall tiles, square tiles and decorative mosaics. The glossy selection includes white, blue, green, pink and red tones, giving you options beyond the familiar earthy terracotta look.

Compare the colors and formats for your backsplash, bathroom wall or decorative feature. Before ordering, check the selected product’s application requirements and coverage.

What Is Terracotta Tile?

Terracotta tile is made from clay that is shaped and fired. The word describes the tile body, while glazed or unglazed describes its surface.

Our current collection features glossy glazed products. This explains why a white or blue tile can still be terracotta: the visible color comes from the surface glaze rather than the clay body alone.

When comparing products, check the material, finish and intended use together.

Choose Your Terracotta Tile Size and Pattern

Rectangular 2×6 Wall Tiles

The Lungarno Zellige Classique 2×6 wall tile offers a rectangular format. Compare horizontal and vertical layouts, and plan where cuts will fall around outlets, corners and cabinet edges.

Square 4×4 Wall Tiles

The 4×4 terracotta wall tile provides a square format. Consider how the tile grid and grout color will look across the full wall, rather than judging one piece on its own.

Decorative Terracotta Mosaics

The collection also includes patterns such as Star & Cross, Triangle, Papillon and Starburst. Compare how each pattern repeats and how it will finish at the edges of your installation.

For mosaics, the listed sheet dimensions are different from the dimensions of individual pieces. Calculate quantities using the stated coverage, especially when a pattern needs cuts around borders or fixtures.

Compare Color, Surface and Edge Details

Zellige can vary in color, shape and thickness, with irregular edges and surface characteristics that form part of its appearance. A single sample will not show the full range.

View samples under your room’s lighting and beside your cabinets or countertops. Decide whether you prefer a quiet color combination or a pattern that becomes a focal point. Have your installer review the material before installation.

Where Can These Terracotta Tiles Be Used?

Start with wall and decorative applications, including backsplashes and bathroom walls.

The Zellige installation guide discourages floor installation. For wet-area walls, it specifies a penetrating sealer; confirm the complete installation requirements for your selected product.

Exterior approval should also be checked separately before ordering.

How to Clean Glazed Terracotta Tile

• Remove loose dust with a soft cloth.
• Use a neutral-pH cleaner suitable for glazed Zellige, or soap and warm water.
• Wipe spills, particularly oils, promptly.
• Remove cleaning residue with a clean, damp cloth.
• Follow the grout manufacturer’s care instructions.

Where sealing applies, follow the sealer manufacturer’s maintenance and resealing guidance.
